About The Program

This program is focused on API 581 methodology, attendees will get a deep understanding not only in the Risk Based Inspection theory but also they will learn how to determine the probability of failure (for different damage mechanisms), the consequence of failure, risk progression, and how to create the recommended risk mitigation activities. The Attendees also will learn how to create a typical database with the mandatory input usually required by the RBI tools available in the market. The instructor will explain how to set, manage and use different risk targets to successfully implement and maintain an RBI within your assets, and how to reduce the risk by using the concept of next inspection date instead of the traditional fixed inspection dates.

Rodolfo G. Hernandez

Sr. RBI & AIM Professional & Freelance Trainer

Senior RBI and Asset Integrity Professional, with around 17+ Years of extensive experience in engineering review (Feed, operation philosophies, P&ID’s, PFD’s, mass balances, isometrics, detailed engineering), Risk Based Inspection, RCM, RCA analysis, process simulation, certification and verification activities (offshore/topside and onshore).

I have proven project management and team leadership skills (trained in Norway by DNVGL for megaprojects managing), conversant with all facets of process reviewing and pressure equipment inspection techniques and methods. Strong knowledge of international codes and standards practices and processes (API Standards, Saudi Aramco standards, DNVGL standards, ADCO standards, Exxon Mobil technical documents, Qatargas standards, etc.).

I have held such roles as Project Manager / Process Engineer/ Department Manager / RBI Engineer/ Asset Integrity Engineer/ RCM engineer/ Corrosion Engineer / Plant Inspector in Oil & Gas assets, Petrochemical industries and LNG plants in Qatar, offshore and onshore units in U.A.E., North America (Pemex, Energia Costa Azul, Gasoductos de Chihuaha) Gulf of Mexico area and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Attended good number of plant shutdowns during the period.
